Missing from W.VA... JAMES MATHIS and RANDY MARTIN II, Are they related disappearances???

James Mathis: Man missing from Huntington

James Darren Mathis, 37, from Huntington, WV is missing and his car was found on the 31st Street Bridge on Friday, Dec. 13.

 Family members told officers they last saw Mathis about 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013. Officers add that family members did not notice Mathis was missing from the home until around 1:30 a.m. the next morning.

The Coast Guard did a search of the river but found nothing.

He is described as a white male, 145 pounds, 5 ft. -11 inches tall.

HUNTINGTON, WV -
According to a news releases issued by the Huntington, WV Police Department they are looking for two missing men.
Police say a man's car was found on the 31st Street bridge on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013.
Huntington Police Department's Criminal Investigations Bureau has identified the man as 37 year-old James Darren Mathis. He is described as a white male, 145 pounds, 5 ft. -11 inches tall.
Investigators say Cabell County 911 dispatchers received the call at 2:14 a.m. on Friday Dec. 13, 2013 of a suspicious or abandoned vehicle on the 31st Street bridge. They began their investigation after noticing that no one was in the car.
According to the news release, officers from the Huntington, WV Police went to the address where the vehicle was registered. 
Family members told officers they last saw Mathis about 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013. Officers add that family members did not notice Mathis was missing from the home until around 1:30 a.m. the next morning. 
The Huntington Police Department and the United State Coast Guard conducted a search of the Ohio River on Friday, Dec 13, 2013 but did not find Mathis, according to the news release.
Investigators also say the West Virginia National Guard did a search by helicopter but came up short.
Anyone with information on Mathis or his whereabouts is asked to call the Huntington Police Department tip line at (304) 696-4444 or 911.
There is no indication from police in the news release that this missing person case is related to a case involving Randy Paul Martin.
Huntington Police reported they were investigating Martin's disappearance on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013.


RANDY PAUL MARTIN II, MISSING FROM WESTMORELAND
Randy Paul Martin II, 31, from Westmoreland, W. Va., has been missing since Tuesday, Dec. 10.  

He was reportedly  going to a pharmacy on Tuesday night when he went missing.  He has not shown up for work for two days.  A search of the home turned up his wallet with his ID and credit cars.
The last ping on his phone was 11:45pm in the Spring Valley area.


His 2005 green Toyota Corolla with WV license plate number 6MV211 was found in the parking lot of a West End Shoney's Restaurant.  The police believe the car had been there since Tuesday, although some Shoney's employees said the car showed up on Thursday.

Martin is 6'2" tall and 190 pounds with brown hair.

UPDATE: The West 17th Street Bridge has reopened after a body was found on a bridge girder late Monday morning.
Police believe the body is that of Randy Paul Martin, II.
Martin II, 31, of Huntington, was last seen Tuesday evening. His car was found Friday afternoon in the parking lot of a restaurant located at the foot of the bridge on the Huntington side. Investigators believe the car had been there since Tuesday.
The discovery was made shortly after 11:30 a.m. Monday.
Lt. John Williams says the cause of death appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
